Privacy Policy

Updated 25 September 2026 · Conversation-first pilot policy 2026-09-25

Current release: a closed early pilot. Account setup is available, while real-member introductions and communication features are enabled only for approved invited adults during controlled testing. Clearly labeled sample profiles and conversations remain illustrations and are never presented as real members.

Zvoog is designed for privacy through gradual disclosure. A member’s complete profile, exact birth date, contact details and private photo are never intended to appear in ordinary discovery cards. Information is revealed only through defined stages or with permission.

1. Who operates Zvoog

Zvoog is operated by Bereshit Services LLC (“Zvoog,” “we,” “us”). Send privacy requests to privacy@zvoog.com and support questions to support@zvoog.com.

2. Who may use the service

Zvoog is for adults aged 18 or older. We use the date of birth supplied during registration to prevent an underage account from continuing. We do not knowingly offer the service to children.

3. Information we collect

Account and identity information

This may include your first and last name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, authentication provider, language and account-security records.

Profile and matching information

This may include location, age preferences, marital status, children and family circumstances, Jewish background, lineage, conversion status, religious practice, community, languages, lifestyle, work, relationship preferences, personal clues, boundaries and the type of Jewish home you hope to build. Some of this information may be considered sensitive personal information because it concerns religious beliefs, origin, family life or personal characteristics.

Photos, conversations and activity

You may upload a private profile photo during account setup. Where member features are enabled, we process text and voice messages, conversation-stage activity, photo-exchange approvals and revisions, call-session records, date and public-place suggestions, blocks, reports and outcomes you voluntarily report. Microphone access is requested for recording a voice message or joining an audio call; camera access requires a separate video choice. Date feedback is private and is not published as a testimonial. Disabled features do not collect this activity.

Device and technical information

We may receive browser or app type, operating system, approximate region, language, IP address, timestamps, security logs, cookies and local-storage identifiers needed for sessions, draft recovery, fraud prevention and reliability.

Optional CV import

Where CV import is available, you may select a document or image, or paste text, to suggest profile details. Reading the document and recognizing its text takes place on your device. You review and can edit the suggestions before adding them to your profile. The fields you confirm are saved as ordinary profile information. This import feature does not upload the original CV or its full extracted text.

4. How we use information

The uses below cover account setup and member features where enabled. Access is controlled separately from installing the app. Disabled features do not collect member activity.

5. Legal grounds and sensitive matching

Depending on where you live, we process ordinary account information because it is necessary to provide the service you request, because we have legitimate interests in safety and improving the service, because you consent, or because law requires it. Where religious beliefs, Jewish background, origin, family life, health-related answers or other legally protected sensitive information requires explicit consent, Zvoog will request that consent before using the information for matching. You may withdraw that consent or pause your profile. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing, but Zvoog may be unable to provide meaningful matching after withdrawal.

6. What other members can see

When access is enabled, introductions begin with limited profile information and personal clues. A short, reciprocal conversation can make selected details, voice messages and call invitations available within the same session. There is no mandatory waiting period of several days, and a call is not required before asking to share photos. The app asks for a current, separate journey acknowledgment before first name, exact age, city, community, marital status and languages are disclosed under this faster journey. Earlier acknowledgments are not silently reused for the new timetable.

Original profile photos remain in private storage. A photo is available to the other participant only when the server's conversation and profile requirements are satisfied, both reviewed photos are ready, and both members separately approve the current photo exchange. Changing a photo requires renewed approval for its new revision. Short-lived access links expire after about 60 seconds. Either person can stop future access; this cannot undo a photo already viewed or saved, and an already-issued link may remain usable until it expires. A display placeholder is not a real blurred preview of a member.

Members can still copy information they legitimately see or learn. Do not share anything in a conversation that you would not want the other participant to know.

7. How information is shared

We share information with another member only as described above; with service providers that operate hosting, databases, authentication, email, security and communications on our instructions; when required by law; or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, threats or safety. If the business is reorganized or transferred, information may transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use sensitive profile information for third-party behavioral advertising.

8. Service providers and international transfers

Zvoog currently relies on Supabase for authentication, database and private-file infrastructure; GitHub Pages and Lovable for web delivery; GoDaddy for domain and DNS services; and Google or Apple when you choose their sign-in service. Google sign-in requests only basic OpenID, email and profile information. Apple users may choose an Apple private relay email address, and Zvoog will communicate through that relay where available. Postmark will be used for transactional email after it is activated, and Firebase will be added if mobile notifications are enabled. These providers may process information outside your country. We will use contractual and other safeguards required for applicable international transfers.

9. Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide and secure Zvoog. An account-deletion request immediately removes the profile from member availability, closes conversations, removes the saved onboarding draft and queues remaining account data for deletion. Our operational target is to complete deletion within 30 days, subject to limited security, legal, dispute and backup-retention requirements. We may retain de-identified statistics that can no longer reasonably identify you.

10. Your choices and rights

You may edit your profile, pause participation, block or report another member, withdraw optional consent, request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or request account deletion. For choices not yet available in the app, contact us. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, data portability, appeal a decision, or complain to a privacy authority. Contact privacy@zvoog.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

11. Security

We use private storage, row-level database controls, restricted server functions, short-lived photo links, encrypted transport, session controls, access logging and data minimization. No online service can promise absolute security. Please use a unique password, protect your device and report suspected unauthorized access immediately.

Optional biometric device unlock

Supported mobile app versions let you enable Face ID, fingerprint or another supported device biometric after signing in. When enabled, the app protects its saved sign-in session using the device's secure storage and asks you to unlock when returning to the app. Your device performs the biometric check; Zvoog does not receive your face or fingerprint template. This unlocks an existing session and does not create an account or replace account sign-in. Signing out removes the saved local unlock credentials. Some interruptions or changes to device security may require you to sign in again.

12. Automated matching

When real-member access is enabled for an approved pilot member, Zvoog uses structured answers and limited activity to filter and rank introductions. The system cannot determine who you should marry and does not guarantee religious, personal or long-term compatibility. Important religious-status questions may be routed for human or rabbinic review. You may contact us for information about a matching decision or to report an inappropriate introduction.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as the pilot changes. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. New uses of sensitive information will not be applied retroactively without an appropriate legal basis or consent.
